Salary : £44,000 to £55,000
Based in Pity Me, Durham/ Hybrid/ home working
About the role
Helping to develop, deliver and support the NWG Cyber Security Strategy across the entire business in line with ISO27001 and other security compliance.
Working within the Security Team you will report into the Security Operations Manager to implement and monitor security metrics and identify areas for security enhancements within our environment in line with continuous cyber improvement. You will work closely with the wider Information Services team to provide technical guidance and support. Your role is predominantly technical but you will have the people skills to support the wider team to deliver security compliance and provide project support when necessary. You will be familiar with cyber security systems such as SIEM and Pen Testing methodology and will have the ability to challenge and make recommendations to improve our security posture. You will encourage stakeholders to adhere to and support the NWG information security policy.
You will have exceptional communication skills along with the ability to establish and maintain strong relationships. You will be self-motivated with an understanding of a broad range of IT, OT and Cyber Security technology. You will be organised, able to challenge and influence stakeholders to ensure they understand cyber risk and to provide technical advice to non-technical people. CISSP, OSCP, CEH, GPEN or other technical security certification is an advantage.
This role would suit someone with experience as a Security Engineer / Cloud engineer looking to move into a dedicated security operations role.
Although the role involves a mix of home working and office working you will be expected to live in the North East of England and be able to come into the office for regular meetings, collaboration and other team engagements.
