Job description
Cyber Security Analyst needed for my client in Twickenham working on a hybrid basis. This is a full-time position, working in a great environment with a very supportive team. This role is suitable to someone who has been working in IT and has a strong interest in Cyber Security.
You will be part of the team providing comprehensive operational infrastructure security, you will be responsible for limiting the impact of security incidents and system compromise, ensuring optimal system security, network infrastructure security, firewall security, network perimeter, intrusion prevention and security of public facing and cloud services. This role will ensure that external security risks are identified and managed across the business, covering both technical and social aspects. You will provide proactive security monitoring of systems and infrastructure and lead on security incident response.

· Some evening and weekend working may be required including a one in four weekend on-call rota for which standby and overtime for active response is paid
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential
· Qualified to degree level or equivalent in a computing or related discipline with post qualification work experience
· Good level of knowledge across a number of information security technologies, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, data encryption, network access control, web/email filtering, anti-virus and security penetration testing.
· Knowledge and experience in information and cyber security issues, security risk management and mitigation.
· Experience of incident investigation and forensic investigation techniques
· Security auditing, penetration testing and security probing techniques
· Practical experience of client technical support, LAN/WAN, VLAN/VSN/VRF, routing remote access, wireless technologies and Active Directory services
· Knowledge of legislations and good practice with respect to data security issues
· Excellent oral and written communication skills
· Problem solving acumen, with a methodical approach & good attention to detail
Desirable
· Knowledge and experience of working with Apple Mac, Linux, PowerShell scripting
· Knowledge and experience of working in a multivendor infrastructure
· Experience of working in HE sector
· Industry qualification e.g. CISSP/CISA/ISO 27001
· Experience in Virtual Desktop Infrastructure, Office365, Account Lifecycle Management
· Working experience with firewalls and other network security appliances
· Experience work with a CERT team
· Experience of Project work
