Job summary
We are currently expanding our cyber security team and looking to recruit a Cyber Security Analyst Apprentice who is a team player with drive, passion, and enthusiasm and is looking to play a crucial role in improving cyber security across a large and busy acute trust. You will have a unique opportunity to work in the Trust's IT Cyber Security Team and start your cyber career having a direct impact on protecting the Trust and its systems and data.
Reporting to a Senior Cyber Security Analyst, you will have the opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge helping to provide comprehensive and effective cyber security and operational support for the Trust IT Services Department.
As a Cyber Security Analyst Apprentice, you will be responsible for supporting the IT Cyber Security team in maintaining our cyber security programme. You will work alongside experienced IT professionals to identify and mitigate potential security risks, analyse security threats, and develop solutions to protect our systems and data.
Within this time, you will undertake a Level 3 apprenticeship scheme that offers the opportunity to work across the different functions within the cyber security team for two years, gaining a Level 3 Cyber Security Technologist qualification.
Main duties, tasks & skills required
To apply understanding of threats, risks, control measures and mitigations to protect the Trusts information assets, systems, staff and Patients from compromise and harm.
You will learn why security matters, basic concepts and theory of information security, vulnerabilities and threats, how to make security assessments and remediate these.
You will assist in providing support to the information security team, IT Services and the wider Trust
You will learn how to maintain knowledge of information and cyber security. To research information and cyber security to evaluate risk and provide advice and guidance. Liaising with suppliers, Senior Cyber Analysts to create security case studies and report findings and make recommendations.
Learn about the threat landscape, threat trends and where to source threat intelligence and how to defend against these.
Specialising down the Risk Analyst route of the apprenticeship you will contribute to the ongoing review and monitoring of identified information and cyber security risk, governance and compliance.
You will learn the principles of risk management, the different methodologies and approaches to identification and treatment of risks and vulnerabilities to the council's information and related assets. How to develop security policy and process will also be taught.

Qualifications
Essential
- 2 x A Levels (or equivalent Level 3 qualifications)
- 5 x GCSE's at Grade C or 4 above (or equivalent) including Maths and English
Experience
