About GMPF
The Greater Manchester Pension Fund (GMPF) is a regional pension fund that administers the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS). It is run by Tameside MBC and is based in Droylsden.
GMPF is one of the largest pension funds in the country and is the largest LGPS fund in the UK. We have over 390,000 members, over 600 employers and last year paid out over £880 million in benefits. The Communications and Engagement section is part of the Administration section. 135 employees currently work within the Administration section of the Fund. In 2021, GMPF won the Pension Fund Communication Award at the European Pension Awards, and this year was shortlisted for the Pension Age Pension Scheme Communication Award for the third year in a row.
We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic manager to join our Customer Services team. This is a great opportunity for anyone who has experience in the customer services sector to join a team who are passionate about delivering a high-level of service to all our stakeholders.
As a Team Manager you will be a part of the Customer Services leadership team, where you will be able to demonstrate your ability to plan effectively and support your team and Section Manager in delivering business objectives and driving initiatives.
Key tasks for the Customer Service team include providing information and assistance to members telephoning GMPF’s helpline, providing face to face support to members at surgeries and roadshows and providing first line support to members accessing GMPF’s online service, My Pension. Full training on all aspects of the role will be provided.
You will need to work closely with your manager and team to deliver an excellent and professional service to all our stakeholders. You will need to work well with other people as well as independently, be able to manage your time effectively and be able to develop good computer skills.
This is a full time role, but part time may be possible.
