Job description
Customer Services Executive (Sheffield)
September 2023
Who are we?
We’re an online betting company launched in 2021 by a group of people who love sport. Our aim is to try our best to take people’s bets whether they be large or small. And we want our customers to feel valued and enjoy dealing with us. It should be fun, right? We’re a new(ish) company that’s going places, which means you will too.
What would you do?
This is a new role in a newly formed team so you will have the opportunity to help shape how we deliver amazing customer service. The most important part of this job is to keep our customers happy. If they’re happy, we’re happy! As we’re a small company you’d also spend some of your time supporting our trading team. Here’s a bit more detail on what you’ll do:
- Help our customers sort out any issues they have. This is the main bit.
- Not surprisingly, lots of the customer issues are to do with the bets they’ve placed, which means you’ll work closely with our trading team (who are great).
- Become a whiz on our customer service software – Freshdesk – which neatly organizes the issues, keeps track of who they came from and how we’re responding.
- Hand over to our India based team when they start work each evening, to make sure we don’t drop the ball on any customer queries.
- Work well with other teams such as technical support and compliance (the team who enforce the rules).
- Provide back-up to our trading team – you’ll be trained how to make decisions on which bets to accept and how to check to make sure markets are correctly priced.
- Help make sure our customers enjoy using our services responsibly.
Would we be a good match?
To be our perfect match, you’ll need to:
- Have a passion for customer services and helping people. That’s the most important thing.
- Know a bit about sports betting.
- Have A-levels or qualifications at a similar level.
- Have worked in a customer facing role, for at least a year (and enjoyed it!).[A1]
- Be a good writer and communicator, writing in a way that feels clear, friendly and warm.
- Be good in a team.
- Know a bit about computers, especially MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.
- Be keen to learn.
- Have a positive outlook.
Even if you don’t tick all these boxes, please don’t be afraid to apply. We’re looking for the right person who’ll fit into our team and we can see really cares about helping customers.
What can you expect from us?
Hours of work and location: This is a full-time, permanent role based in our Sheffield office. We’ll need you to work every weekend 9am to 5pm and then 3 other days between Monday and Friday.
Salary: The salary range for this role is £20,000 – £25,000 per year, when we find out you’re a great match we’ll make you an offer based on your experience.
Benefits: The real benefit of working with us as a start-up is you can make a difference, be in the action and be part of our close-knit team from day one. We do of course offer many of the benefits you would expect to see and as we grow, we’ll look to creatively add to our benefits package. Currently we offer:
- 5.6 weeks paid leave (including bank holidays)
- Enhanced company pension

What will you need to do next?
Please send us a cover letter which sets out why you think we’d be a good match. We’d also like to see your CV, which will tell us about your education and previous work experience. If we agree that you’d be a good fit, we’ll ask you to attend up to two interviews, where we’ll get to know you and assess your writing skills. We’ll set that out in more detail once we get to that stage.

We’ll always aim to treat people fairly regardless of race, colour, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, age, marital status, pregnancy, maternity, disability or gender identity.
