Job description

Job description

Do you have a passion for helping people and providing a great customer service?

Our customers matter to us, we want them to be able to live happily in their homes and our Customer Access Team and Registrations Teams are at the heart of this.

We have 3 permanent positions available, 2 in the Customer Access Team which are 37 Hours full-time positions and 1 in the Registrations Team which is 21 hours per week.

You will be required to support customers by explaining the range of housing options available to them and assist them with their housing registration. This will be face to face at our First Point reception, over the telephone and via email. You will also support the team by keeping the housing register up to date, processing new applications and updating and renewing existing registrations.

You'll need to keep calm under pressure and have a positive and flexible attitude to what the day brings, ensuring our residents, customer and work colleagues feel listened to and valued.

You will join a hard-working and flexible team and be given full training, so that you can confidently answer all rehousing queries.

If you have great customer skills and are keen to help people find the right housing for them, then we would love to hear from you.

We are investing in our workforce and are promoting opportunities to our under-represented groups. We value equality, diversity and inclusion and are focused on increasing the diversity of our workforce, particularly the number of Black, Asian, Minority Ethnic, Disabled and LGBTQ+ people, so that our teams reflect the communities in the city we serve. We are also supporting staff with unpaid caring responsibilities to work flexibly.

It is a great time to join us and we welcome your application.

Under the Disability Confident Scheme, disabled applicants, who meet the essential criteria of this job, are guaranteed an interview.

Full-time employees work 37 hours for 52 weeks of the year and we offer a generous holiday entitlement. We are open to discussions about a wide range of flexible working opportunities which benefit you and the Council, including reduced hour contracts, working part time or as a job share.

If you have any queries about these roles or would like to discuss further, please contact Shahbaz Ramzan on 0114 2930633 or email [email protected]
