  • Do you have experience of working in a busy retail or hospitality role?
  • Are you looking for a new challenge?
  • Ever thought about working in a library?

Maybe the thought of working in a library hasn’t occurred to you before, but if you are an outgoing team player who loves working with people, providing a friendly welcome and excellent customer service, then our Customer Service Team at The University of Manchester Library could be the opportunity for you! We work in a proactive, fast paced Customer Service environment, providing a front line service across several different sites, together with online customer interactions and we’re looking for people to join our team.

We are recruiting for the role of Customer Services Advisor, a 35 hour a week role requiring the working of a shift pattern.

You will offer a positive, effective welcome to our customers, both face-to-face and online, to proactively engage them with our services, listen to their needs, share your expertise and resolve any concerns quickly and seamlessly. Providing an effective contribution to our customer focused team, you will assist customers and colleagues alike, offering guidance and sharing knowledge. Drawing on your strong understanding of customer service you will be an ambassador for University and Library values and strategy. You will have the opportunity to develop specialisms in specific areas of our offer
