Responsibilities :
- Be first point of contact whether this be visitors or telephone enquiries, recording contact details, screen calls, redirect and take messages. Generally, create a welcoming environment
- General office duties, typing, proofreading, creating/maintain spreadsheets, filing including document logging and storage etc.
- Accounting – sales ledger work in several different formats including retrieval, data logging, analysis and feedback. David Hallam Ltd utilise a specialist construction orientated accounting package called Evolution.
- Ability to develop and maintain online accreditation such as Construction line, CHAS Disclosure and barring service (DBS) etc.
- Process sales of chemicals/materials, dealing with cash and card transactions.
- Timely maintenance of client information, including contact details, scheduled attendance dates, contract terms and renewal dates.
- Organise water samples to laboratory, managing postage and couriers collecting/delivering to the office.
- Maintain and order office supplies
- Book accommodation for staff working away from home, pay online tolls etc.
- Produce and maintain holiday logs/charts and liaise with HR.
- Be adaptable and be willing to change working practices to suit the companies needs.
Work Experience and Skills
- A minimum of 5 years of office experience.
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office - primarily Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Must have a strong understanding of Excel links/hyperlinks and formulas.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills i.e. clear and concise information exchange.
- Comfortable with routinely shifting office demands.
- High degree of attention to detail.
- Data entry experience a must.
- Working knowledge of general office equipment

Salary: £21,000.00-£28,000.00 per year
