Customer Service Assistant

Our SPAR convenience stores are more than just a local shop, and we are proud to be at the heart of the community. As a Customer Service Assistant (CSA), you’ll have a really important role to play in ensuring our customers are given a warm welcome in store, maintaining store standards, and positively contributing to the running of our business. We are now offering an exciting and varied Part Time 0-hour contract for a Shop Assistant to cover various shifts which may include, mornings, afternoons and evenings.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary responsibilities include:
- Always greeting our customers with a smile; providing excellent customer service and going the extra mile.
- Regular store walks and scoring to ensure we are viewing the store from a customers perspective in line with the 10 ‘Putting The Customer First’ non-negotiables.
- Ensuring customer satisfaction through product knowledge, keeping up to date with promotions and putting up promotional displays.
- Accurate processing of all transactions through the till, Lottery terminal, Post Office and Subway (where applicable).
- Cashing up tills and ensuring Company monies are kept secure at all times.
- Taking ownership for the receipt, replenishment, and display of stock.
- Ensuring the store is kept clean and tidy at all times with particular focus on the shop floor; taking into consideration fresh produce, stock rotation and visual merchandising.
- Provision of Food To Go in line with production schedule; ensuring product quality, and compliance with labelling and allergen regulations.
- Completion of orders for external, third party, delivery services.
- Legal controls, including completion of temperature checks and date checks in line with Company procedures, ensuring completion of the Compliance Log Book.
- Ensure personal compliance with Age Restricted Sales regulations and ‘Think 25’ guidance.
- Following all Health & Safety guidelines to ensure the safety of colleagues and customers, in line with the Company Health & Safety policy.
- Following store security guidelines and report anything unusual to the store management team immediately.
- Supporting the gap check and stock count processes as required.
- Following all Company policies and procedures at all times.
- Undertake any other duties that may be assigned to you by the store management team as required.

Hourly rates of pay: £9.50 per hour (aged 23 +), £9.18 per hour (aged 21-22), £6.83 per hour (aged 18-20)
