An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our diverse and friendly Accommodation and Support Team for one full time Customer Service Assistant. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who is committed to providing an excellent service to our homeless and at times vulnerable customers within the Temporary Accommodation Team.
A Customer Service Assistant will deal with various enquiries predominantly face to face but also over the telephone, text, or online.
This is a fast-paced team in a challenging environment that at times can be reactive, you need to be able to respond effectively, efficiently and in a timely manner to a wide range of customer enquiries, you will be collaborating with other teams within the Council and our partners.
You must have excellent written and verbal communication and listening skills. A customer focussed approach to your work is essential.
Working across various computer systems and applications will be required therefore, good computer literacy and keyboard skills will be essential.
As you will be required as a regular and intrinsic part of your role, to speak to members of the public in English, you must be able to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English.
You may be required to work from various sites in the city to meet the needs of the service.
For our daytime service, we operate hours between 8.00am and 5.00pm, Monday to Friday, excluding weekends and bank holidays.
A full-time member of staff receives a minimum of 25 days annual leave per year (rising to 30 days after 5 years’ service with the Council): part-time leave is worked out pro-rata based on this.
This is for a permanent Customer Service Assistant role within the team, which is full time for 37 hours.
