Grand Central is an open-access train operator linking the North East and West Yorkshire with London. We are also part of Arriva who have a large and diverse portfolio of train and bus operating companies in the UK and Europe.
Contract; this is a fixed term contract until February 2024 and the position covers a variety of shifts across a 7 day period, so flexibility is essential for the role.
What will I be doing as a Customer Service Assistant?
This role will support the Senior Conductor in all customer service requirements with an emphasis on the provision of catering services. Duties will include:
- Promote the Grand Central image of customer service at all times when in contact with customers or potential customers on and off train
- Deliver product and service specifications in all areas on-train to meet customers expectations e.g. 1st Class, buffet etc.
- Undertake all associated stock, storage and waste management requirements
- Manage on-train requirements including customer support, service and seat reservations and ensuring train presentation
- Ensure personal safety and that of others at all times
What will I need to be successful as a Customer Service Assistant?
- Basic food hygiene qualified
- Trained in the operation of on-train catering/ revenue collection equipment
- Ability to work safely under pressure
- Strong customer service skills
This role will suit someone who loves interacting with a variety of different people on a day to day basis, and someone who thrives off the challenge of unexpected events.
