Make the most of your customer service skills in one of our exciting and challenging roles, where you’ll respond quickly and accurately to a whole host of enquiries about Derby City Council’s and its partner services.
The role
Joining the busy team in Derby City Council’s Customer Service Team - Derby Direct, you’ll be dealing with a wide range of customer enquiries on a face-to-face basis, assisting them to access services using our Self-Service PCs, delivering services at our customer service booths and dealing with visitors at our Reception Desk. As the work is fast-paced and demanding, you must be able to respond quickly and accurately in a professional manner. You’ll then use the customer service information systems to provide the relevant advice or information, or re-direct callers where appropriate. Dealing with some telephone, email and digital contact enquiries from our customers will also form part of the role. There is the potential that this role can be made to 37hrs per week for the right candidate.
You must have:
- GCSE at Grade C or equivalent in English and Math
- A proven track record of dealing with the public in a customer service or retail role
- A flexible approach to working hours
- Experience of using IT systems to record data accurately
- A professional manner and willingness to want to “Be the Best”.
