Job description
The objective of the role is to provide support as a hospital introduces a new hospital system and immediate, local guidance to staff who require support as they adapt to new processes and applications. Although this may seem to require a technical bias, the ideal candidate is more likely to have an arts/ classics/ drama degree- as it is your people facing skills that are most important
If successful you will be first trained in the system and then receive enhanced training and coaching
This is not a formal System training role, or a system configuration or technical support responsibilities.
The role would suit a proactive, responsible individual who is maybe considering one of the following roles after university;
- 1st line Help desk Support/ IT support
- IT System Developer
- Customer Services role
- Training Role
- Information Analyst
- Application floorwalkers
You should have good communication skills, confidence in using a PC and an interest in the use of IT systems to change and improve the way in which hospitals and their staff work and deliver health care.
The key responsibilities are:
- Provide support and coaching to users in an operational setting in using System applications during and following Go Live
- Support wider change effort by acting as advocates of the new system and encouraging its uptake by staff
- Advocate the use of the System within the Trust and flow information from the project team to the end users and vice versa.
- To provide reassurance to end Users
- Act as a conduit of information to the change leads or trainers
The key activities include:
- Ensure users successfully adopt new best practices
- Provide on-the-job coaching to any staff who require additional support post System User training
- Identify and resolve any knowledge gaps in the area supported
- Support and deliver business continuity where necessary
- Liaise with helpdesk and keep up to date on most commonly escalated call types
Given that you may be working in patient facing areas you may need to be double vaccinated.
Any previous healthcare or IT support experience is beneficial but not essential.
