JOIN OUR HEALTHCARE HEROES

Bupa is the UK’s biggest health insurance provider. We are a family of thousands. Brave, committed and compassionate people, all driven by the same purpose – helping people live longer, healthier, happier lives and making a better world. We are pleased to say we are the Official Healthcare Partner to ParalympicsGB.

We have no shareholders to answer to; our customers are our sole focus. And we reinvest our profits into providing them with better healthcare, now and in the future.

Candidates must have experience working in a contact centre or experience working 100% remotely from home.

Why Bupa?

Whether you’ve found your feet or are discovering a new path, welcome to a place that celebrates you. This isn’t where you've been, this is where you're going.

Our people are our biggest asset. So, we provide a package of benefits that supports them in finding a work-life balance to ensure their mental and physical wellbeing in our growing business.

As a Customer Service Advisor, you’ll enjoy an attractive range of benefits, including:

  • 25 days holiday, increasing through length of service, with option to buy or sell
  • Bupa health insurance as a benefit in kind
  • An enhanced pension plan, where Bupa double your contributions and life insurance
  • Annual performance-based bonus
  • Discounted access to My Gym Discounts, a flexible, monthly subscription service with live classes, fitness apps and 1-2-1 sessions
  • My Bupa Extras - Exclusive discounts and cashback deals

You will also have the opportunity to enrol onto our Customer Service Apprenticeship scheme. Which is a great way to gain industry-recognised qualifications, whether you’re taking the first steps in a new role, or you're ready to make your next move and need a further, advanced qualification. You could even gain a Master's degree.

Your role

As a Customer Service Advisor, you’ll be the first point of contact for our customers. That means you’ll be the ears and voice of Bupa. You’ll also need to be a friend, a trusted source of information and even a shoulder to cry on; touching the lives of strangers in an important way, every day.

Whether a customer is calling about a sprained ankle or a life-threatening illness, you will treat them with the same level of care and compassion.

And it won’t always be easy. You will need to authorise or decline treatment in line with policy coverage. But, with the right balance of empathy and resilience, you can build a great career.

We support your ambitions and as a large business we offer different career paths inside and outside of the contact centre if you have the willingness to learn and grow.

What you’ll do

  • Support customer enquiries through both inbound and outbound calls, ensuring each customer has a great experience
  • Pre-authorise or decline treatment in line with Bupa policy coverage, responding with empathy at all times
  • Accurately maintain our customer database, ensuring all conversations and outcomes are recorded
  • Maintain high professional standards at all times and abide by all regulatory requirements

What you’ll bring

A successful Customer Service Advisor will need:

  • Great listening and communication skills with the ability to respond with empathy
  • A mix of flexibility and resilience to deal with a variety of enquiries
  • Confidence using a PC and the ability to multitask
  • An enthusiastic, positive attitude with a real desire to help others
  • Experience working independently from home
  • Previous experience working in a Contact Centre

Diversity and Inclusion

Bupa is committed to making sure that every applicant is assessed solely on personal merit and qualifications. We actively celebrate the diversity of our colleagues and provide an inclusive environment so you can bring your true self to Bupa. We’ll make sure you are treated fairly regardless of disability or circumstance. That’s why we’re happy to offer reasonable adjustments as part of our recruitment process, to anyone that needs them.
