The Information Technology Division (ITD) is a customer-oriented division which supports the Washington State Patrol in evaluating and recommending new software; designing, developing and supporting agency applications and Web sites; and providing information technology project management.
This position supports statewide law enforcement officers who use the SECTOR/TraCS applications, which collects traffic safety tickets, collisions, DUI reports, and other traffic safety information. WSP is transitioning from the SECTOR system to the new TraCS application, which is used in several other states. The position will be an integral part of the SECTOR/TraCS team that will configure, test, and deploy the new TraCS application. The position will work directly with the law enforcement officers to support the use of the applications, resolve issues, and troubleshoot problems, working in a collaborative team environment. The position will also test and document the application and develop training materials. The position will work with personnel in other agencies. Who use Traffic Safety data for further processing. This dynamic position becomes a subject matter expert in traffic safety law enforcement technologies and enables the efficient use of technology to collect and process vital information, to save lives and improve safety on Washington Roads.
Our new teammate will be able to:
- Provide statewide SECTOR/TraCS program support by troubleshooting, analyzing, documenting, tracking, reporting and correcting SECTOR / TraCS workstations.
- Provide database modifications involving data cleanup and database and hire.
- Executes test plans utilizing test data and test cases to ensure that new and revised systems meet the documented requirement needs and is free from defects.
- Uses tools such as Active Reports and Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio to develop, maintain, and distribute reports and data to business partners.
Required Qualifications:
- Three years of information technology experience such as consulting, analyzing, and troubleshooting computer software applications, and providing support in information technology.
- Three years of experience in providing customer service, using help desk tracking software, and developing technical documents related to policies and procedures or test plans.
- Possess strong skills and at least three years experience in most of the following:
- Programming Skills/Languages (Desirable)
- SQL (CRUD, Stored Procedures, Transact - SQL)
- Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services
- Integrated Development Environment Tools (Desirable)
- Visual Studio 2015 to current version
- Office Productivity Tools (Desirable)
- Adobe Acrobat Reader v10x to current
- Microsoft Office Suite 2010 to current version (Access, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, Visio, Word)
- Help Desk Software (Desirable).
- Programming Skills/Languages (Desirable)
