Our Head Office is situated on the Rotherwas Industrial Estate in Hereford, where we employ over 90 members of staff and operate slitters, printing presses and extruders. In 2021 we acquired a second site situated on Baglan Energy Park in Port Talbot, where we employ over 50 employees with extrusion and conversion facilities.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, production-orientated Customer Service Assistant to join our busy in-house Customer Services department. Reporting directly to the Production Support Manager, the ideal candidate will be a self-motivated, dynamic, professional team member who is keen to expand their existing experience and skills within the print manufacturing industry.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
A busy and varied role focused on building and maintaining a high standard of customer service with our customers and ensuring response times and service levels are kept at this standard, with main duties to include;
- Providing customers with initial quotes prior to order placement;
- Maintaining accurate and thorough customer service records including project spreadsheets;
- Prioritising and processing customer orders and requests submitted by telephone and email;
- Working closely and liaising with Sales, Production, Origination, QC and Transport departments to ensure the best possible standard of service is provided to our customers at all times;
- Participating in daily production meetings regarding progress updates and arranging transportation of goods;
- Monitoring the status of customer orders via planning and regularly updating customers regarding expected delivery;
- Regularly liaising with external suppliers regarding outsourcing of orders to ensure delivery targets are met;
- Organising and archiving paperwork, documents and electronic information relating to customer orders.
REQUIREMENTS:
This role requires a high level of technical competence and the ability to analyse, understand and present data in a professional manner. Experience of working in a high-pressured, customer-focused industry, preferably within manufacturing, is crucial.
- Confident and professional telephone manner, ensuring that incoming telephone calls and emails are answered in a timely manner or passed onto relevant department;
- Excellent communication & numerical skills are vital to this role;
- Proven experience using Microsoft Office (including excel);
- Proven ability to plan, organise and prioritise own workload with a good eye for detail;
- A flexible and pro-active approach to learning new skills;
- Enthusiastic and self-motivated individual with strong organisational and planning skills who will be comfortable working in an open-plan office environment.
JOB DETAILS
This permanent role will see the successful candidate become a valued member of the Customer Service Department, with the opportunity to take on new responsibilities as the role progresses.
