Job description
Contract: Permanent
Salary: £24,561 per annum
Hours: 35 hours per week
Shifts: A rolling roster covering early, late and night shifts.
There's no better way to get from Heathrow to central London than using public transport. Small wonder, then, that over 20,000 passengers a day make use of our rail stations.
We’re looking for Customer Hosts to join our Heathrow Rail Station teams to help us drive more passengers to use our stations by providing first- class customer service, sharing travel information and giving assistance.
Customer Hosts are our brand ambassadors and, as such, you’ll offer everyone a warm welcome to London. You’ll also offer them your knowledge and guidance, whether it’s helping them find the right train, terminal or giving directions to London landmarks.
As you might imagine, the safety of our passengers is our top priority. You’ll be putting safety first; which means you’ll also be complying with Heathrow Rail’s procedures, rules and regulations. Of course, we will give you thorough safety and security training, so you’ll know what to do if you spot an unattended bag, see someone acting strangely or are involved in an emergency evacuation.
This role is about as far as you can get from a desk job. You’ll be out and about, moving around and interacting with customers. Whilst you don’t need prior experience to land the role, you will need great communication skills and a passion for delivering excellent customer service. Due to the nature of the work – where your observation and listening skills are important – you do need to be ready to take sight and hearing tests too.
Once onboard, you'll find this is a role that offers real variety and great job satisfaction, and you will also benefit from our generous reward package. Not to mention excellent career development opportunities within the business.
The recruitment process consists of a review of your application, followed by an on site safety awareness test. If successful through each of these initial stages, you will be invited to an Assessment Centre in March 2023 with an estimated start date in June 2023.
