The role
Orbit are looking to recruit an experienced Operations Manager to deliver on our nationwide customer support programme - Better Days. You will manage a team of thematic leads, ensuring the effective commissioning of services and contract management of delivery. You will also be responsible for ensuring our customer support programmes and activities are well coordinated and inclusive with the aim of being industry leading within the housing sector.
This role is part of Customer & Communities where you'll help us to lead the way keeping our promise to more than 100,000 customers.
What you'll achieve
Your day to day duties will include, but not be limited to:
- The development, commissioning, contract and risk management of our overall Universal Better Days programme
- Manage a team of thematic specialists to ensure good practice and industry expertise directly influences our programme of services
- Work with external partners to deliver high quality support services to our customers that is fully integrated with our operational delivery
- Oversee income generation plan that is focussed on developing medium to long term income revenue whilst enhancing the offering to our Customers
- Accountable for managing, monitoring and controlling annual budgets circa £1m+
What you'll bring
Essential skills
- Ability to manage large scale and complex partnerships and delivery programmes, including contract management
- Demonstrable experience of managing successful teams.
- Proven experience in managing customer support projects and programmes with track record of delivering results and continuous improvement in service delivery.
- Ability to write and present Board level reports including performance and impact reports and communicate effectively to a range of internal and external audiences, both verbally and in writing
- Experience in commissioning delivery programmes and other contractual delivery, including the management of risk, compliance and GDPR.
Desirable skills
- Previous experience of working within Housing Sector or working knowledge of the sector.
- Experience of designing and implementing evaluation activity.
- Experience of building effective networks and partnerships that lead to revenue generation/ funding and increased outcomes for customers.
