What you’ll be doing:
Effectively communicating with all Partners and raising operational issues to the Transport/Site Management Teams in a timely manner, providing handovers at the end of your shift
Maintaining effective relationships with key stakeholders across the business and third parties. Actively escalating issues and managing relationships with external service providers & internal vehicle maintenance units as and when required. Demonstrating an outstanding customer experience to every customer as an ambassador of John Lewis & Partners, both internal and external, through all channels.
Keeping up to date on your knowledge of the Road Transport Directive, Domestic and EU Drivers Hours Regulations. Assisting the Site Management Team and Operator Licence holders, ensuring compliance with the Road Transport Directive, Domestic and EU Drivers Hours Regulations.
Actively ensuring all vehicles with safety-related defects are shown as ‘Vehicle Off Road’ and arranging repairs in a timely manner. Regularly conducting spot checks and self auditing.
Ensuring all vehicle incidents/collisions management processes are followed within our SLAs and are passed to a manager for further investigation
Updating and maintaining the vehicle maintenance planner, ensuring the Partner Delivery Fleet & Hire Vehicles remain legal and compliant and all maintenance is completed within legal time frames.
Effectively managing agency drivers and hire vehicle processes
Ensuring all Legal, Health & Safety and Site Operating Procedures are adhered to at all times ensuring the safety of yourself and others. Reporting any accidents, near misses (using the near-miss cards) and any other health and safety issues
Assisting with peak planning to ensure your Customer Delivery Hub runs efficiently and effectively during busy periods
Assisting site management with daily tasks and project work as required
Actively supporting Continuous Improvement ideas across the CDH from Partner feedback
This role will suit someone who:
Has experience working in transport compliance
What you’ll need:
Very good organisation and planning skills with a good working knowledge of Transport Legislation
Experience working in a Transport office and within Transport Complience
Maths and very good communication skills, both verbal and written
Good working knowledge of IT Systems
Excellent PC Skills including Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Slides, Word, Excel and Powerpoint
Transport Compliance Legislation knowledge (for example driver's hours and working time, vehicle maintenance planning, infringements)
Experience with Transport Compliance systems for defective vehicles and driver's hours.
What else you may bring:
Transport or Logistics Apprenticeship
Knowledge of Telematics systems & Routeplanner

This is a Monday to Friday role with bank holidays off.
Starting Rate Annually - £23,500 (£12.05 hourly rate)
Shift Premium Annually - £3,060 (calculated at 13.5% of £11.60)
Overall Annual Pay - £26,500
