Customer Consultant (Bridgend) Bridgend, Wales

Principality Building Society
Full Time Bridgend, Wales 21752 GBP ANNUAL Today
Job description

Customer Consultant (Bridgend)

At Principality Building Society, our branches are the face of our business out in the communities we serve. We're Investing in our branches and are focused on creating a hub for the local community – a place where we can build customer relationships, sometimes have life changing conversations and give our Members and customers the great service they've come to expect from us. So join our award winning team and make sure that when someone walks through our door, you’re the friendly face ready to meet their needs.

How you’ll make a difference

You’ll be the first person most Members will see when they come into our branch and you will quickly understand their needs, identifying the right products or services to help them out and passing them on to expert colleagues if necessary. And when you deal with customers over the phone, you’ll give them the same level of standout service. As the main point of contact with customers, your role is pivotal in helping to keep our members money safe.

What you’ll bring to the role

With a background in customer service, you’ll be a people person, with the ability to make our Members feel welcomed and cared for. Whether you’re dealing with them face-to-face, or over the phone, you’ll stay calm, friendly and supportive. With the energy and flexibility to deal with a wide range of customers, you’ll always be ready for the next challenge and will be keen to learn new skills and improve our service.

How we’ll reward your great work

Our colleagues are one of our greatest assets, so our reward offering is extremely important to us. Our package includes pension, bonus and incentive schemes, life assurance cover, critical illness protection, private healthcare and the option to buy extra holiday each year.

Colleagues can also enjoy discounts on theatre, sports and family events, and access to tickets for the latest events at Principality Stadium. Perhaps our most unique reward is the £100 we’ll give you to open a savings account at your local branch. That makes you a Member, with a stake in our business and voting rights at the Annual General Meeting.

We know that no two of our colleagues are the same, so we also offer a flexible benefits package, 'Principality Rewards', which allows colleagues to select the benefits that matter most to them. It's one of our ways of supporting our colleagues through every stage of their working life. And now there's more choice than ever before, with benefits ranging from dental insurance, to health screening to will writing and pension advice. There's even a travel account, which allows colleagues to book a holiday and pay the cost back monthly through salary deductions.

Bring yourself to work

Join us and you’ll enjoy the freedom to be yourself and achieve your best. We actively participate in Pride Cymru and are a proud Stonewall Diversity Champion. As a Time to Change Wales pledged organisation, we’re committed to tackling mental health stigma and discrimination. With open, merit-based recruitment processes, supported by diversity training for leaders up to Board level, we’re building a truly inclusive business, where colleagues matter and everyone feels at home.

We’re a responsible business

Helping our members to prosper is central to our ethos. It's why our business is closely linked to the communities where we work. For us, improving financial education and understanding is a crucial role and one that we take seriously. So as well as raising thousands of pounds for nominated local and national charities each year, we run financial education programmes in schools to support grass-roots understanding and drive towards a more financially educated future.

Come and join us

At Principality, we support our colleagues at every stage of their working life and have been officially recognised as one of the best super large workplaces in the UK at the Great Place to Work™ awards.

We’re looking for people who can put our Members and customers first, do their best for them and help them to understand our products and services. It’s a big ask, but if that’s you, apply now. As an inclusive employer, we’ll judge you purely on your merits and our recruitment process will ensure you’re treated openly and fairly.
