We have a great opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic person to join our team in Swindon Jewson JPS (SN2 8YR) as a Customer and Warehouse Assistant (and occasional delivery driver)!
This role is working with JPS (Jewson Partnership Solutions) who specialise in providing solutions and building materials for our customers in the Public Sector such as Housing Associations and Local Authorities.

Is this role right for me?
This role has a strong focus on customer service in branch as well as working in our warehouse and being out delivering products to our customers, so this role is great for someone who loves to build relationships with customers and enjoys working in a varied, fast paced but supportive environment. The person we’re looking for will have:
- A passion for delivering great customer service
- A flexible approach to work; happy to work in various departments within the branch
- Previous experience within the construction/building materials industry (although not essential)
- No issues with manual handling of bulky items up to 25kgs
- Previous experience driving a 3.5t vehicle
- Previous experience driving a forklift, although training can be provided
A full clean driving license is essential for this role.
Working Hours: Monday to Friday 7:30am–4:30pm (No weekend work!)
What will I be doing?
Your role will be essential to keeping our branch running smoothly. From serving our customers at the trade counter, processing customer orders, loading/unloading stock, organising and completing deliveries and supporting the branch through day-to-day operations. Your day-to-day duties will be to:
- Provide an excellent customer experience, maintaining strong effective relationships with both local customers and suppliers
- Serving on the counter with customers and providing good customer service
- Process customer orders both over the phone and in person
- Deliver a wide variety of products to our customers using a 3.5t van
- Pick items to fulfil customer orders ready for collection or delivery
- Check incoming stock deliveries and put away in appropriate area
- Get to know our product lines and services in order to make the most of all customer interactions
- Develop great relationships with new and existing customers (both face to face and over the phone)
- Keep the branch looking clean and tidy, to make a great first impression on our customers
- Maintain stock levels, carrying out regular stock counts
- Make Health & Safety a priority and demonstrate how you can keep yourself and others safe at work
