Job description
This role is to support both administrative and clinical colleagues within Critical care.
It incorporates reception greeting and meeting visitors to the unit, answering phone and taking messages, store keeping, ordering of disposable equipment and any other administrative jobs required.
This role will suit someone who enjoys communicating with many different personnel within and outside the NHS.
Keeping the administration area tidy, free of equipment and organised and ensuring master copies of departmental paperwork are up to date and forms are available for use
Maintaining a record of Estates/EBME /IT issues and logs and taking responsibility for chasing outstanding jobs and updating departments.
Stock keeping and ordering of multiple stores.
Managing departmental staff lockers
Re-direct mail to correct areas.

To be responsible for ordering of shared stationery and critical care staff footwear, as requested by nurse in charge. To ensure adequate stock levels at all times under the direction of the nurses in charge.
To provide general reception duties as required for the department.
To be first point of contact for dealing with incoming telephone calls for the clinical staff on behalf of the department, seeking assistance when required, dealing with calls in a professional manner and take messages.
At the request of colleagues liaise with various internal departments and external agencies Wards and managers. External Couriers and Suppliers and Transport to ensure the day to day smooth running of the department including using the emergency and routine communication systems.
To communicate any Health and Safety issues within the environment to the nurse in charge.
Ensure confidentiality of staff and patient information in accordance with Trust Policies .
Communicate with patients, relatives, visitors and Colleagues in professional and caring manner.
