Salary: £25,758 - £27,690 (with additional shift and weekend working allowances)
Location: Hull or Grimsby
Hours: 37 hours
Contract: Permanent

The main purpose of the role is to check the content and quality of all pre and post charge prosecution files, ensuring evidential quality and relevant documentation is correct. You will assist Investigators by identifying lines of enquiry, advising officers in the preparation and submission of pre and post charge files.
The successful candidates will advise Investigators in the preparation and submission of prosecution files to National File Standard, as well as undertaking a proactive role to improve file quality by coaching investigations in support of right first time principles and moving disclosure back to the front line. You will action all correspondence submitted by the Crown Prosecution Service and collate, process and ensure security of unused material.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Must have an awareness of the CPIA (Criminal Procedure and Investigations Act) and PACE (Police and Criminal Evidence Act).
- Must be willing to undertake and successfully complete CILEx specialist course in Disclosure.
- Possesses a basic understanding of the criminal law in England & Wales and how it is administered and the relationship between the Police and the Crown Prosecution Service.
- Experience of working within a confidential environment.
- Act and current prosecution legislation.
- Computer literate with experience using Microsoft Office.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing to ensure tasks are completed accurately. Ability to demonstrate logical approach to problem solving.
- Accurate and precise in the compilation and presentation of material.
