QAD/1093/0206 Role: Crime Scene Investigator Technical Manager Contract Length: anticipated 12 months Location: Hybrid – 2 days a week in the office in any of the following locations: Birmingham, East Midlands, Kingston upon Thames, Leicester, Warrington Up to £500 per day pay range subject to IR35 status This role offers the opportunity to be put through SC Clearance. Our client is looking to hire a Crime Scene Investigator Technical Manager, on a contract basis for approximately 12 months. As the Crime Scene Investigator Technical Manager, you will ensure the monitoring and supervision of departmental compliance to ISO 17020 and FSR Codes. As the Crime Scene Investigator Technical Manager you should have at least five years’ experience working in a similar role and experience of leading a team as you will be responsible for Line management and mentoring of the Deputy Technical Manager and other business support staff. We are looking for a Crime Scene Investigator Technical Manager, qualified in the College of Policing Crime Scene Investigation Modules 1& 2 (or equivalent NPCC accredited qualification). Ideally you will also hold the Internal auditor certificate to either ISO:17020, ISO:17025 or ISO:9001. As the Crime Scene Investigator Technical Manager you will have the following responsibilities:
- Development and maintenance of ISO 17020/ FSR Codes compliant policy and procedures.
- Technical method validation design and delivery.
- Co-ordination and review of proficiency test scheme participation.
- Develop plans for batch testing consumables and review of results.
- Line management and mentoring of Deputy Technical Manager and business support staff
- Monitoring and supervision of departmental compliance to ISO 17020 and FSR Codes.
- Deliver initial and ongoing CSI training activities including CPD sessions and practical assessments.
- Provide technical advice and guidance to the Quality Management Team and departmental managers.
- Participate in internal audits and UKAS accreditation assessments.
- College of Policing Crime Scene Investigation Modules 1& 2 (or equivalent NPCC accredited qualification)
- Full UK driving licence for driving in the UK for duration of time in role
- Desirable: Internal auditor certificate to either ISO:17020, ISO:17025 or ISO:9001
