Team Description:
Role is within the Credit team that review and decision all new business proposals from direct and indirect sources for a broad range of assets.
Description of role and key responsibilities:
1. Process and make decisions on all new deals and transactions with a mandate of £ 150,000 (dependant on experience and following full training)
2. Make detailed recommendations on new deals and transactions above personal mandate
3. Analysis of financial information
4. Maintain relationships between Investec and key brokerages
5. Collaborate with colleagues across the division to drive efficiency for growth
6. To always act with integrity and embrace the philosophy of treating our customers fairly
7. Preparation of management information in relation to the existing portfolio
Other adhoc tasks as required by the business
Core skills and knowledge:
1. Analytical Skills: Ability to engage in financial analysis to appraise deals at a level appropriate to the size and risk level of the transaction.
2. Market and Product Knowledge: Awareness of the market landscape in the UK, competitors, and general economic knowledge.
3. Relationship Management: Ability to identify, build and maintain rapport and strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Able to work in alongside a team of professionals in an open, collaborative, and non-hierarchical team environment.
4. Experience: Minimum of 3 years work experience in a Credit Underwriting role with a lending mandate. Candidates from an asset finance background from areas other than Credit Underwriting will be considered if they can demonstrate the required skills and some relevant previous work experience.
