We are looking for an enthusiastic and outgoing candidate to join our Credit & Political Risk team in London as an Underwriting Assistant. The CPR team is a global team of seasoned underwriting professionals with a wealth of experience, based in London and the US. We are a market leader in the class of business.

This role will be based in our London office with a hybrid schedule that has the option of working two days remotely each week.
Role Purpose
Support the Credit & Political Risk Underwriters, whilst working as a member of the Operations Underwriting Support team to deliver accurate risk, record keeping, and reporting.
Key Accountabilities
- To summarize slip terms and conditions, calculate premium and exposure schedules, and ensure complete accurate entry of, quotes, risks, and endorsements to the Everest Underwriting System(s) so as to ensure correct management, statistical and regulatory reporting. Perform as required the necessary data checks to ensure accuracy of underwriting data ensuring they are accurately entered within our systems.
- Store all risk information and correspondence in the document repository to ensure a complete and accurate audit trail of all substantive business activity.
- Ensure that all relevant underwriting information is included for the peer review, risk entry, and data checking review process within the designated timeframe. Underwriting information submitted electronically is to be indexed and updated as appropriate within specified timeframes.
- Maintain tools containing key underwriting information to facilitate compliance sanctions, fraud, and financial crime checks pre bind and monitoring post bind.
- Assist underwriters during the underwriting process, production of management information, business development and marketing.
- Provide administrative support to underwriters and the Operations team in areas including credit control, data quality and training.
- Take onerous of data quality entered by our outsourcing team Sutherland based in India.
- When necessary, provide support to Underwriting teams within other classes of business.
- Any other ad hoc tasks as defined and agreed with the Underwriting Operations Team Leader and the Underwriting Operations Manager.
- Monitor operational SLA’s on a monthly basis to ensure tasks are being completed within expected turn around times.
Professional Experience
- Preferred relevant experience of working in an underwriting or broking support role
- Knowledge of Credit & Political Risk would be an advantage, but excellent training is available within the team
- Ability to deal with external stakeholders
