This role is based in the United Kingdom and as such all normal working days must be carried out in the United Kingdom.

This particular role is based in London, working 9am-5pm, Monday to Friday with the flexibility to work from home 3-4 days per week.

We're now looking for another Credit Controller to join our Finance team. Reporting to the Finance Services Manager, you will be responsible for the overall sales ledger ensuring appropriate controls and procedures are in place throughout the business for the effective management of the debts due by customers.

Other key areas your role will focus on:

  • Creating and upholding payment procedures and policies that ensure timely payment received from customers
  • Oversee the implementation of the Customer onboarding form and ongoing Debt policy and suggest changes to improve collection rates.
  • Evaluating the credit status of clients to identify debtors and credit level on onboarding
  • Performing ad-hoc credit status checks on all customers
  • Implement and maintain robust controls to resolve disputes and queries to facilitate timely payment aligned to customer terms.
  • Deliver agreed KPIs covering credit control and customer payment terms
  • Ensure accurate records of all client contact are maintained to enable understanding of disputes, categorisation of disputes and confirmation all clients are contacted.
  • Facilitation of year-end audit requests
  • Liaise with all relevant stakeholders ensuring exposures across all customers are aligned to associated credit levels provided on customer sign-on, with specific attention to Projects and contract work in progress
  • Detailed 13-week cash flow projections of agreed payment timeframes with customers, with subsequent month analysis of actuals to forecasted to identify variances between anticipated and expected receipts.

The skills

We're looking for someone with 2 years plus experience in a Credit Controller role with a strong ability to reconcile complex accounts and experience implementing and maintaining credit controls. We also want to see solid technical experience working with Microsoft Office and accountancy software - you'll also be an Excel wizard, creating formulas (SUMIF, VLOOKUP etc.) and open to learning new skills to enhance your wizardry!
