The Credit Advisor is a client facing role whose main responsibility is supporting the Relationship Managers (RMs) by structuring lending solutions for Private Banking clients by:
- Identifying, structuring, negotiating and underwriting new credit opportunities and/or
- Managing existing portfolios, developing appropriate recommendations for credit approval, ensuring compliance with documented covenants and financial reporting requirements and/or
- Reviewing credit limits and monitoring collateral while balancing portfolio’s risk-return.
- Lending solutions include residential mortgages, lending against financial assets (Lombard) and bespoke lending solutions.
Key Accountabilities:
- Handle enquiries, provide guidance to RMs in identifying, structuring and marketing suitable credit solutions to meet client’s needs and/or
- Underwrite and execute both loan and derivative structures, perform high quality analysis, due diligence and credit presentations and/or
- Maintains a thorough understanding of the content and aggregate risks within an assigned portfolio, trends and other KRIs and/or
- Recommend credit structure and assess risk.
- Provide good customer service at all times to both internal and external clients.
- Proactively identify and develop new business opportunities for new and existing clients.
- Adherence to all regulatory and HSBC Group controls in line with published guidelines.
- Deliver fair outcomes for our customers and ensure own conduct maintains the orderly and transparent operation of financial markets.
Qualifications - External
- Proven ability to develop high quality lending opportunities and relationships
- Strong credit analytical, portfolio management, risk management & interpersonal skills
- CeMAP qualification preferred
- High quality collaboration skills in a team-oriented environment
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage relationship manager and client expectations
- Possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
