Job description

about graze and the world we are part of

At graze, our mission is to rewrite the snacking rulebook. We stand against the snack-stablishment and how unsatisfied it can make snackers feel. We want people to enjoy snacking again by eating delicious treats without worrying about eating too much sugar or salt. That’s why we’re always on the hunt for tastier, crunchier, fresher and better snacks that are good for you (and for the planet).

But how are we doing this? Well, we’ve already reduced the sugar in our snacks by 60% and we’re working towards becoming more transparent with our labelling (and encouraging other snack makers to do the same). We’re here to make healthy, exciting and snacking a joy.

So, it should come as no surprise that we’re also a certified B Corp and a proud advocate for the Better Business Act. We’ve committed to being a better business by putting equal measure behind how our business operates for people, planet and profit.

Now that’s a graze idea.

the role, Brand Creative Lead...

We are looking for an experienced multidisciplinary design leader with a wealth of FMCG knowledge to be the guardian of our creative direction, drive for creative excellence and support our big plans for innovation, communication campaigns as well as the general creative needs of the wider business. We are looking for both a thinker and a doer, someone who is at the forefront of their craft in designing new, fresh and exciting brands.

You will be the guardian of the brand’s visual identity. What do we look like? What do we mean to consumers? You will be a crucial member in designing the future of our big brand campaign launches, as well as refreshing and optimising our online presence. From packaging, social to POS and digital inserts, our creative team designs everything in-house. Leading this team will allow you the freedom to own, shape and really get under the skin of the graze brand, as well as work in a fast-paced, highly iterative and extremely collaborative environment. We’re our own client!

what you’ll be responsible for…

  • Creative guardian of the graze brand! This person will be responsible for managing & implementing our brand identity, global design style guide & tone of voice

  • Leading the creative team: you will be responsible for managing and developing our team of 7 creatives alongside collaborating with freelancers and agencies where needed.

  • Executing design briefs; working across the full spectrum of creative projects and taking on the most advanced and testing creative challenges on behalf of the team e.g. Packaging & Campaign design

  • Ensuring the creative team delivers excellence in the execution of our brand identity across all touchpoints

  • Working hand in hand with the Studio Manager to manage performance across the team & develop the team into highly skilled creatives

  • Cross-functional collaboration: you will work closely with a variety of other functions across the business, from packaging to the brand, innovation and direct to consumer team.

what we’re looking for in you…

  • Design and creative leadership experience working with FMCG brands within food or drinks, either agency side or in-house, with a portfolio that demonstrates your outstanding skills and creativity

  • Ideally, you’ve managed a creative team and have experience in being the owner and guardian of a brand’s identity

  • You have a passion for development, and proactively make time to ensure you are building capability in yourself and those around you

  • A breadth of design experience across campaigns, digital formats, POS and especially retail packaging design (from 1st concepts through to approving on press)

  • Full of creative energy, able to bring ideas to life both verbally and visually with the resilience to constructively work with feedback

  • Ability to build successful relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, along with a natural, confident and positive style, able to influence those you work with

  • Serious skills in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign, a solid knowledge of printing processes and how to set up print-ready artwork as well as impeccable layout skills.

what’s in it for you?...

  • Imagine being part of a company that strikes a great balance between being a fun place to work, and a place where you’ll learn and grow! Picking up new skills and experiences, broadening your knowledge and capabilities to push you to the next level.

  • We are passionate about having an excellent culture with deep-rooted, meaningful values. The biggest ask we have is for you to be your authentic self every day, whilst doing a great job. We want you to feel like you belong, in the way that is right for you.

  • We encourage active learning with learning lunches, networking events or more formal qualifications.
