About us
There’s never been a better time to join Christian Aid’s Fundraising & Supporter Engagement Department. We would say that, wouldn’t we? But we mean it. Despite the challenges we’ve all faced over recent years, we have grown income and smashed our targets, making a transformational impact for people in poverty. Your next career step could see you joining our passionate and energetic team of poverty-fighters. We inspire more than 250,000 supporters and thousands of supporting churches to raise more than £40 million annually to tackle the root causes of extreme poverty.
We’re committed to building a diverse and inclusive workplace, and recognise the value this brings in forming strong, creative and high performing teams. We welcome applications from all sections of the community, and from those with experience from outside of the voluntary sector. And no, you don’t have to be Christian to work here – we encourage people of all faiths and none to apply. We just ask that everyone lives out our values of dignity, equality, justice and love. We value a good work-life balance, so we’re open to part-time and flexible working. We also offer hybrid working for our office-based colleagues and the option of being a homeworker for most of our roles too.
About the role
The Creative Designer uses their creativity, design expertise and creative management skills to produce and oversee excellent content. This content tells a story to audiences, moving and inspiring them to joyfully give, act and pray with Christian Aid, so that everyone can live a full life, free from poverty.
The Creative Designer achieves this by creating concept ideas and hands-on design, managing freelancers and creative jobs, giving advice and guidance, and reviewing content produced by others (mainly colleagues and freelancers). They produce content for print and digital channels, from social media ads, magazines and direct mail packs, to a suite of content for a major campaign.
They strengthen Christian Aid's visual brand through creative ideas, making sure all content is aligned with the brand guidelines. The content they create is people-centered and reflects our values of dignity, equality, justice and love.
About you
You are experienced in collaborative creative work, with the ability to pitch to client teams, work autonomously in a creative, fast-paced environment, across a wide range of materials including fundraising campaigns, direct mailings, magazines and digital channels.
As a talented designer, you possess outstanding graphic design and creative concepting skills; an eye for detail, spotting design and production errors, you are able to cope with constructive criticism and work calmly under pressure, while remaining respectful of the expertise and deadlines of others.
Knowledge of the charity/not for profit sector is desirable but not essential, as long as you're a talented Creative Designer, we'd love to hear from you.
