Job Description

As a Creative Assistant (CA), your focus will be on both content creation for social, and the delivery of the organic side (posting and community management) of packages for clients. This content creation includes creating animated social graphics, social infographics, social videos, and other creative types of content that we may post to social media. You will be responsible for creating full-size infographics to go on the blogs and websites of our clients. The role may also include other forms of creation, including podcasts, video, photography and the associated editing. You will provide content for both Giraffe’s own marketing and our clients.

Your role will also consist of some organic delivery of our client’s packages, including developing creative and strategic posting schedules to be delivered across all the major networks. You’ll also be tasked with engaging with our client’s online communities, interacting with their customers and competitors in a strategic way. You will be assigned your own clients, whom you will work with on a regular basis. You’ll get to know these clients really well and can plan your work in advance. You’ll also be asked to cover clients for other members of the team (when they are on leave or need support during busy times). This will allow you to get to know all our clients and give you the opportunity to manage social media for a range of businesses and industries.

There are times when your role may require some client management activities, either with your own clients or as a part of cover work. There will be times when you will be expected to attend a client call or meeting in order to engage with the client and provide input. At times you may also be asked to assist with sending emails or writing strategy documents or performance reports. As a Creative Assistant you need to be willing to get stuck in with whatever is needed; and view it as a learning opportunity that could help you progress to becoming a Creative Manager.
