AWE is currently looking for a Craft Machinist Practitioner to carry out a wide range of craft machining operations in the manufacture and development of production and trials components within the Production Function. Key Accountabilities: Deliver the production of high precision components to meet the required customer specification Maintain safe operation of machine tools and all other related equipment Maintain and promote high personal standards in environment, safety, health, security and quality and be a great team player Key Responsibilities: Responsibilities outlined below are not exclusive, but there is an expectation you will operate a variety of machine tools such as; computer numerical code (CNC), lathes, milling machines, shapers, precision grinders, and welders Programming, control and configuration of CNC Undertake route cause analysis for problem solving Multi-task across multiple machine tools and manufacturing areas Act as a role model and mentor peers and apprentices as required by the business area Support and participate continuous improvement activities Carry out 6s activities in line with business area requirements To undertake and maintain all training in your core role and linked disciplines Compliance with necessary procedures in the execution of the role Participate in task review planning activities and route card generation where required. Contribute to the drafting of safety and operational documentation as required by the business area Work with others to form high performing teams Adopt a ‘See It, Own It, Solve It’ mind-set, by identifying obstacles to success and taking ownership to find solutions to those problems #LI-JW Candidates must be willing and able to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance for this role.
