Job description

Purpose

The purpose of this role is to assist LWS in the manufacturing of retail finished goods, following all company processes and procedures to do so. Alongside, assisting the Low Care Team Leader by controlling all transactions in and out of production, ensuring traceability is maintained and quality checks completed within parameters.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Follow the company processes and procedures in relation to food safety, allergen control, protective clothing and maintain good manufacturing practices throughout the shift
  • Follow the clean as you go policy and maintain high standards of personal hygiene
  • Deliver high standards of quality ensuring products are produced in line with site standards and customer specification
  • Adhere to plan and keep the production downtime to a minimum
  • Complete product changeovers in a timely manner
  • Complete and submit documentation accurately and in a timely manner to ensure traceability is maintained
  • Meet the relevant KPIs and targets assigned by line manager
  • Assist in day-to-day operation and provide cover and support to other operatives if necessary
  • Carry out occasional or new tasks as required
  • CCP Water Baths checks, both temperature and chemical levels
  • Transacting stock to and from production
  • Batch building recipes
  • Post production stock checks
  • Maintaining traceability throughout

Health and Safety

  • Carry out assigned tasks and duties in a safe manner in accordance with instructions and to comply with safety rules/procedures/ regulations and report any unsafe practice or condition
  • Complete task-based objectives following safe systems of work
  • Follow reasonable work instructions from line managers/team leaders
  • Report any accident, near-miss, dangerous occurrence, or condition to the line manager/team leader
  • Obtain and use the correct tools/equipment for the work and do not use any that are unsafe or damaged. Report any tolls/equipment issues
  • Do not operate any faulty machinery or equipment
  • Do not remove any machinery or equipment guards
  • Wear PPE at all times per care area
  • Do not to operate any plant or equipment unless authorised and trained

Role Requirements

Essential

  • Proficient English language both verbal and written
  • Proficient in mathematics
  • Understanding of a safe working environment
  • Willingness to enhance individual knowledge in areas of development

Desirable

  • Experience of working in a food manufacturing environment
  • Level 2 Food Safety and Hygiene

Hours of work:

  • Full Time (4 on 4 off shift rota, 5.30am - 5.00pm)

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: £11.10 per hour
