Job description
Countryfile, BBC1’s flagship factual series, regularly the most watched factual programme on television, is looking for an exceptional Series Producer with a proven track record.
This is an exciting opportunity to lead and manage a large production team and to craft and deliver weekly programmes that celebrate rural Britain.
As the Series Producer of Countryfile, you will play an active role in creating new ideas and guiding the editorial direction of the programme, working closely with the Series Editor and Production Manager. You must have a passion for - and understanding of - rural affairs and the countryside.
Main ResponsibilitiesAs the Series Producer of Countryfile you must have excellent editorial judgement, creative flair and knowledge of fast turnaround programmes. A keen awareness of budgets is essential plus experience of dealing with commissioning. You also need proven ability to motivate and get the best out of your team.
You must demonstrate a sound working knowledge of production and post production processes and technology. Knowledge of editorial guidelines is essential; awareness of relevant BBC and statutory policies and regulation; health and safety regulations, artists’ rights, music copyright, working with children, insurance requirements etc.
It’s also an opportunity to travel to some of the most beautiful landscapes the UK has to offer.
Are you the right candidate?- Must have a passion for and understanding of rural affairs and the countryside.
- Must have a Series Producer or Series Director Credit
- You will have experience managing large teams.
- You will have excellent editorial judgement and creative flair.
- You will have a knowledge of fast turnaround programmes and be able to spin several plates at the same time.
- You must have experience dealing with commissioning and an awareness of budgets.
- Experience of self-shooting.
