Counter Fraud Intelligence Analyst
Medway operates a successful Internal Audit & Counter Fraud Shared Service with Gravesham Borough Council. We are looking for a highly motivated individual with excellent analytical and communication skills to take up a position as an Intelligence Analyst within the team.
The post holder will be expected to carry out internal data matching to identify instances of potential fraud, conduct risk analysis of allegations of fraud received, attend meetings with partner organisations with particular focus on sharing of information for the prevention and detection of crime, as well as assisting various council departments with the verification of information supplied with applications.
The successful applicant will contribute to the overall counter fraud activity undertaken by the service and will be expected to work across both council sites within Chatham and Gravesend as required. There will also be a need to attend meetings at external partner locations on an adhoc basis.
Essential qualifications/experience
Good standard of academic education, with 4 GCSEs Grade 4 or above (A to C) (including Maths and English), or equivalent.
Good IT skills, including use of Microsoft programmes.
Experience of analysing data from a variety of sources and systems, including manual and computer-based records.
Experience of working with initiative, and as part of a team.
Experience of working with sensitive information or within a confidential environment.
