An opportunity to join the University of Brighton Student Wellbeing team as a counsellor is available.
Your expertise and passion for improving student mental health and wellbeing coupled with the relevant qualifications, will be key to your success in this new and exciting role within the Counselling team of the Student Wellbeing Service at the University of Brighton.
As a student counsellor you will hold a caseload, provide assessments, and deliver a range of therapeutic and psychological support interventions. You will possess the relevant skills, qualifications and creativity to deliver clinical and support interventions directly, and to make appropriate referrals both internally and to key local organisations and statutory services (i.e. for longer-term or more specialist support).
To succeed in the role, you will:
- Be a strong team-player with the flexibility and drive to adapt your service delivery to meet student demand
- Have experience of risk and crisis management within a similar setting
- Have a sound understanding of equality and diversity issues as well as good practice.
