We currently have an opportunity for someone to join our service in what is a new project to set up and deliver cost of living advice sessions including energy advice in outreach locations within North East Derbyshire and to deliver workshops for local groups/members of the public. As well as being an experienced adviser, you will be required to work towards gaining (if not already) the Energy Awareness Level 3 City and Guilds qualification.
Due to the nature of the role you will be expected to travel around the North East Derbyshire to a number of locations and, when appropriate, provide cover for other colleagues. You will be motivated to work independently to manage your clients and ensure that all administrative work is completed promptly. You will have the ability to interview clients using sensitive listening and questioning skills to get to the root of the issues and empower clients, whilst maintaining structure and control of meetings, and a commitment to the aims and principles of the Citizens Advice Service. You will be part of a team but will frequently work independently without supervision; a proven background of providing advice is therefore essential. You will also have experience of working with various stakeholders in order to promote the project.
This role will be based in our Clay Cross office but we are open to requests for a mixture of home and office-based working. In addition, there is chance for flexibility in the working pattern.
Every local Citizens Advice is a registered charity. Different application procedures are adopted by individual local Citizens Advice. Contact the relevant one as outlined in the information about this role. You should not send an application form to national Citizens Advice.
All local Citizens Advice produce their own annual report, but you can find out more about the Citizens Advice network or download the latest national Citizens Advice annual report.
