Overview:

General Ledger Accountant

Hybrid working – 2/3 days in Sheffield

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Sheffield-based UK Finance team to support Aptean’s continued growth in the UK and Europe. This role would suit a part-qualified or recently-qualified accountant with a proactive and driven attitude looking to continue their professional development in a fast-paced environment with a global outlook. Main duties will involve all aspects of financial and management accounts;

About the role / responsibilities

Ensure that all financial transactions are correctly processed and appropriately reflected in the GLs
Ensure monthly balance sheet reconciliations are performed and variances are investigated and reported in a timely manner
Adherence to month end procedures and timescales in order to meet Group reporting commitments
Ensure compliance with internal financial reporting requirements
Support with Group and local Statutory audits
Provide accurate and sound management reporting to assist with key decision making
Review accounting processes and practices and improve where necessary to ensure efficient financial operations
Support with group acquisition integration work
Adhoc projects as required by management

About you

Qualified to degree level or equivalent
ACA/CIMA/ACCA part qualified preferably
European language skills would be advantageous
Strong financial accounting experience, preferably in software environment
Strong IT skills including excel modelling
Ability to achieve continuous improvements in process and efficiency
Deadline focused and results orientated
Organised with strong focus on detail but with an ability to prioritise
Strong teamwork ethic
