An exciting opportunity has arisen for highly motivated individuals to undertake the role of Corporate Vetting Decision Maker. You will manage your own case load, making daily decisions taking into account threat, harm and risk.
This is a challenging role that requires the successful candidate to liaise with outside forces and internal teams such as the Anti-Corruption Intelligence Unit of the Professional Standards Department and having the responsibility for the vetting of Essex Police officers, Police staff, new recruits - appointments, contractors, and agency staff temps in accordance with the Vetting Code of Practice supporting the Authorised Professional Practice (APP).
You will work closely in support of the Team Leaders and The Force Vetting Manager. You will be an integral part of a team dedicated to vetting matters assisting Essex Police in its integrity strategy. The work will be both interesting and demanding. You will undertake detailed research and development of Intelligence and other sensitive records & reports in determining the suitability or not of staff for appointments.
You will be able to demonstrate experience of competent computer skills as this role requires you to research and interrogate systems daily. You will be required to use a variety of Police IT databases.
Previous experience is desirable although training will be provided, you will be required to demonstrate thoroughness, motivation, drive, and attention to detail and in addition you will be required to write complex and accurate reports and work independently. The post holder must demonstrate a sound understanding of the importance of the vetting process, during the interview you will be expected to demonstrate what preparation you have carried out prior to applying for this role. The post holder must be able to work under pressure due to significant demand.
