About the job Due to tax team restructuring, expanding cross-border transactions base and with increasing compliance requirements this position has been created. The responsibilities will include: Tax compliance in EU - preparing and submitting corporate tax returns and other periodical tax returns. Other tax compliance in UK and EU, i.e. TP, DAC6, EU/international tax regulatory/compliance requirements. Any other national and international tax work assignments related to CT/WHT. Assisting SAP G2 transition project for S for Hanna. Assisting Tax team on CbCR and BEPS Pillar 1 & 2 reporting requirements. Managing STBV Appendix 4 annual reporting requirement. Understands WEE EU Legislation, ESG Tax practices, Emission Trading System and CBAM requirements and can support NEC in implementing changes brough in by new legislations. Understands Incoterms and its impact on tax obligations. Understands custom borders and duty implications. Capable of managing relationships with various tax advisors across the world and seeking appropriate and timely advice from them where required. Capable of providing tax support on various M&A’s, divestments or expansions projects. Capable of developing processes, drafting process notes and policies. He or she should understands the importance of documentation and audit trails. Capable of providing tax advice to Senior management, Sales Operations and Supporting departments such as Legal and Supply chain and other stakeholders where required. Capable of providing support on various information/reporting request from Global Tax team at NEC’s Head office in Japan. Establish and facilitate strategical and operational business set up. Actively involved in growth and improvement of global tax organization. Develop and improve tax control procedures. Monitor legislative and regulatory tax law developments, communicate the effects of these developments to senior management and wider organization. Manage and coordinate improvement and rationalization of tax and legal structure. Capable of providing support on various UK and international Tax audits, Risk Reviews, Internal audits and APA’s. Work closely with and support finance controllers on audit and statutory accounts in RHQ and local country affiliates. Interact and communicate with all levels of the company. Qualifications for Corporate Tax & Transfer Pricing Advisor ACCA/ACA finalist with experience in Tax team of at least 5 years International tax experience gained in an in-house role or at big 4’s Excellent written and oral communication skills Someone with previous experience of using AlpaTax Proficient with SAP knowledge, Microsoft Office, an excel expert (comfortable using pivot tables and macros) Has an attention to detail. A self-starter with strong organizational skills and a hands-on approach who leads by example Fluency in one of the European languages is advantageous A team player who has the ability to work well independently Comfortable working in a very fluid, global and fast changing organization Structured and organized to ensure internal objectives and statutory deadlines are met Ability to utilize project management skills You will have the opportunity to manage and work with various entities in the region and also collaborate on a global level with the Global Tax office in Japan as well as other global tax professionals. They are expected to be flexible with a can-do attitude who takes ownership of responsibilities and activities within the Tax and Finance teams. This is a hybrid role (partly remote working); the candidate will be expected to travel to the NEC offices within the region whenever required. NEC aims at Zero carbon emission by 2030 and we are looking at reducing our carbon footprint by reducing unnecessary travel. As a result foreign travel is far and few. In cases where travel is a must, we advise all our staff to use low emission means of transport.
