Job description
We are looking for a professional Security Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate is more than just security – he or she is responsible for building a strong rapport with the client and ensuring that all clients feel safe and secure. This Security Officer must be a strong communicator, have excellent interpersonal skills and enjoy working within a friendly team environment. Our Security Officer will also be responsible for conducting sight checks of the premises to ensure that there are no safety hazards and will occasionally participate in crime prevention programs, such as locking doors after hours.

Will be suitably qualified and experienced individual who will work on a shift basis, nights, days, and weekends (role specific)
Must possess good communication skills with good standards of verbal and written English, and be responsive to training and instruction
Be computer literate to a level enabling them to generate/retrieve information using the client’s booking system, also to be proficient with MS Office.
Will be able to provide good quality reports either in hand-written or electronic format
Be technically competent to operate security equipment, e.g., CCTV.
Will be first aid qualified
Will, always - in or about (including traveling to or from) any of the KPMG’s Site(s) conduct themselves in a disciplined, courteous, and responsible manner, displaying high standards of professionalism, good conduct and competence.
Will be Security Industry Association front-line licensed in accordance with the terms of the Private Security Industry Act (PSIA) 2001 or alternatively have written authorized dispensation from the SIA if license is lost, stolen, or being renewed. An in-date licence will be visibly worn when on duty.
Will demonstrate strong customer-orientated skills, acting as the first impression point for KPMG to all employees and visitors.
Must maintain the highest standards of personal hygiene. Uniform must be clean, trousers and shirts pressed, and shoes must be polished and of the required style. Jackets and ties must always be worn.
Officers will not wear obtrusive jewellery - identity bracelets and visible necklaces are prohibited. Finger rings will be limited to wedding bands. Hair shall be neat. The wearing of light-coloured socks, nonstandard uniform, visible items of clothing not part of the uniform and the display of excessive or offensive tattoos is prohibited. Name badges are to be always worn.
KPMG officers will be expected to perform the following tasks. To include, but not limited to:
•Monitoring and supervision of the Firm's Sites during the hours specified within the agreed contract specifications.
•Understanding and fully complying with Site Assignment Instructions.
•Understanding and fully complying with the Firm’s Security Policy and S.O.P’s
•Controlling access to entrances and exits
•Protecting the Firm's Sites, the Firm’s Staff, suppliers and visitors from theft, vandalism, violence and damage or other harm.
•Patrolling the Firm's Sites (internally and externally) to prevent fire, flood, theft and damage or other harm. To be conducted without use of personal devices, compliant of Covid measures and wearing the correct PPE where applicable.
•Dealing promptly and professionally with any emergencies, suspicious incidents, events, or circumstances.
•Performing front-of-house duties. (Standing for up to 2 hours at a time)
•Providing good customer service whilst anticipating the needs of the business and acting accordingly.
•Performing Reception cover duties as required.
•Executing the Firm’s procedures for Inland Revenue and DTI inspections.
•Checking and verifying passes.
•Issuing temporary passes to the Firm’s Staff and suppliers as required.
•Issuing visitor and/ or supplier passes as necessary.
•Escorting visitors and/ or suppliers as necessary.
•Monitoring and responding to installed security systems.
•Maintaining a Daily Occurrence Book.
•Producing well written/typed Incident Reports, statements and any other texts/documents as instructed.
•Giving directions and assisting the Firm’s Staff, suppliers, and visitors.
•Control of vehicles and parking internally and around the perimeter of client premises.
•Locking and unlocking of the Firm’s Sites as necessary.
•Responding as necessary to computer-based building monitoring systems that regulate on-site mechanical and electrical equipment.
•Complying with, and operating in accordance with, the Firm's Health & Safety and Emergency procedures, and responding as necessary and as trained.
•Supervising and administering the Firm’s confidential waste contract.
•Conducting regular out of business hours (07:00 – 19:00 Monday – Friday) physical building fabric inspections of the Firm’s Sites and reporting results.
•Conducting regular out of business hours sweeps of the Firm’s Sites to monitor and enforce the Firm’s Clear Desk Policy and reporting results.
•Controlling the Firm’s Site keys and accurately recording issuing and returns
•Responding appropriately to lift alarms and breakdowns.
•Complying with any other reasonable instruction as shall be given by the Firm’s Representatives from time to time.
•Effective in all modern communication methods, in both receiving commands and following them to completion, and passing on any information to colleagues or those in the management structure.
