- The Position:
Entrust is looking for an experienced, commercially sound, solutions oriented and highly motivated Corporate Attorney to work within the EMEA legal department based in Reading, UK, reporting directly to the Senior Corporate Attorney. The primary responsibility of the Corporate Attorney is to provide legal support for EMEA and APAC regions of the business. The position will be a key advisor to Senior Management and business units located globally. The Corporate Attorney is expected to perform the responsibilities detailed below and other duties as assigned.
How you will make an impact:
- Draft, review and negotiate a wide variety of commercial contracts in support of the Entrust business segments including software and hardware agreements, cloud-based agreements, services agreements, consulting agreements, data protection agreements and other technology related agreements in line with corporate policies and risk tolerance and advise executive management on deal risk reviews;
- Review and advise the business on complex and high value government and private tenders and provide legal support to the business in responding to RFPs, RFQs;
- Provide legal support and guidance to the global organization on a broad range of other transactional, regulatory, compliance and ad-hoc matters as required;
- Lead legal team priority projects as may be assigned from time to time while effectively collaborating with other business and legal colleagues;
- Collaborate with internal clients at all levels to effectively minimize legal risk to the business while supporting and assisting in the achievement of the company’s business and strategic objectives;
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of the company’s business and business practices in order to best serve the business;
- Work in collaboration with other in-house attorneys located globally and manage outside counsel
Qualifications:
- Admitted to the Roll of Solicitors of England and Wales with a current practicing certificate;
- Minimum five years’ of relevant post qualified experience working in-house;
- Strong experience of handling cross jurisdictional workload within EMEA/ APAC;
- Strong skills in interpreting, drafting and negotiating complex agreements, and must have experience with software, hardware, cloud/ managed services and hosted technologies;
- Experience of dealing with intellectual property, privacy and information security related issues;
- Be proactive and have the ability to work in a fast-paced, highly challenging and high pressured environment while maintaining focus on what is most practical and effective legal solution – rather than what is textbook perfect;
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams through successfully managing relationships with a wide variety of colleagues;
- Superior prioritisation skills to efficiently manage a large volume and variety of commercial transactions in a global environment;
- Ethical, superior interpersonal, analytical, organization and written and verbal communication skills with the ability to think strategically and give practical and business-oriented advice;
- Approachable, adaptable and comfortable dealing with uncertain and ambiguous situations, with a creative problem solving mindset.
