Technology teams in the UK work closely with our global businesses to help design and build digital services that allow our millions of customers around the world, to bank quickly, simply and securely. They also run and manage our IT infrastructure, data centres and core banking systems that power the world’s leading international bank.

Our multi-disciplined teams include: DevOps engineers, IT architects, front and back end developers, infrastructure specialists, cyber experts, as well as project and programme managers.


The Colleague Experience IT function supports services including HR, Legal, Procurement, Corporate Services, Communications and Branding, Audit, Chief Controls Office, Company Secretary and more.

Colleague Experience IT is a newly established function within Enterprise Technology to supports HSBC in being more customer and colleague centric, driving more shared, common platforms and designing optimized processes covering the full end to end journey. The landscape is unique with the combination of diverse business functions supported and the variety of architecture and service models. Many services are underpinned by SaaS services with some of the world’s largest technology vendors (Incl. Oracle, SAP Success Factors, Service Now, Appian, Google, Microsoft) plus many more niche vendors (Incl. Degreed, Computershare, Gloat, Beezy, Anaplan, Coupa, Diligent).

Role Description:

HR technology requires an experienced Programme/Value Stream Manager to be responsible for managing the continuing HR Transformation journey wthin the function as part of the Tech Vision ’27.

The role is accountable to the Head of HR Technology within the Colleague Experience Technology business line and sets IT direction, defines and manage portfolio plans, and innovates in line with the HR Transformation strategy.

The role is global and works across multiple IT services and products.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage HR IT Strategy and Approach across a series of workstreams or lever activities, building stakeholder buy-in around plans, commitments and change
  • Manage Programme budgets including planned headcount and associated benefits (£50M+)
  • Assist Stakeholders with the decomposition of complex transformation requirements into Capabilities/Features/User Stories that can be delivered by transformation/project teams or PODs via respective backlogs with minimum cross product co-ordination
  • Manages and reports progress for Transformation portfolio for HR Technology
  • Delivery, Governance & Reporting to stakeholders including the CIO in the business and the central programme team.
  • Manage the reporting of progress, issues, dependencies and risks to committees and make recommendations to influence decision making in order to maintain progress towards delivery and benefits realisation
  • Drive the use of Agile frameworks within Technology teams (e.g. Scrum, Kanban) in line with corresponding transformation frameworks at the bank/in Corporate Functions
  • Expertise of delivering major Transformational programs within banks
Requirements
Essential Skillset/Experience:
  • Knowledge of HR processes (performance & rewards, recruitment & onboarding, payroll, talent, succession management & planning, benefits management, diversity & inclusion, time & absence mangement, learning and development) and/or relevant HR processes in a global environment
  • Knowledge of banking operating models
  • Experience of Programme management and change related to people, business, engineering and service management environments
  • Demonstrates an innovative mindset with examples around continuous improvement methods to introduce Technology advances for business development purposes.
  • Experience delivering Organisational transformation towards Agile Ways of Working (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe) and DevOps practices
  • Experience of the following technology platforms – Service Now, SAP SuccessFactors, SAP Payroll, SAP Learning, SAP Recruiting, MS PowerBi, Qualtrix, Oracle Recruiting, Degreed, Gloat, Avature, Peoplesoft, or equivalent tier-1 technology platforms
  • Ability to present technical details to a non-technical audience and experience of working closely with a diverse stakeholder group (IT, operations & business)
