Job description
At VSCO, we believe remarkable talent, enthusiasm, and creative thinking add up to great work. We're looking for someone with excellent writing skills to be our full-time, in-house copywriter. As a member of the marketing team, the copywriter will write and edit content for a variety of projects (including website, mobile, video, emails, and social media), working closely with the marketing and design teams to bring brand and product campaigns to life. The most successful candidate will have experience writing for both product (in-app modals and onboarding) and brand (multi-channel campaigns).
Objectives of this role
- Own the consistent delivery of the VSCO tone of voice across all channels
- Thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with a high-volume workload often requiring short turnaround times
- Raise the bar continually for writing fresh copy that connects with a desired audience and drives action
- Be adept at varying the voice, style, and other characteristics of messaging based on the context and target audience
- Stay current on and develop style guidelines and brand voice for consistent messaging
- Advising contract copywriters
Responsibilities
- Audit VSCO's copy for consistency and brand voice
- Own the cohesive delivery of copy on an ongoing basis
- Building collaborative workflows with cross functional partners
- Interpret and deliver against copy briefs and product copy requests, both short and long-form
- Write original copy and edit content for a range of marketing and communications materials
- Collaborate with a cross-functional team stakeholders including marketers, product managers, and designers to translate concepts into compelling copy
- Work with others to revise copy based on feedback
Required skills and qualifications
- 4+ years of professional copywriting experience, with solid portfolio of work
- Experience working on a consumer, preferably a subscription based product
- Demonstrated experience writing both product and brand marketing copy
- Exceptional writing skills, representing a range and ability to adapt language based on brand and context
- Ability to work independently or with a team to meet deadlines
- Excellent organizational skills and multitasking ability
- Experience using/developing brand tone-of-voice guidelines.
Nice to have
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in journalism, English, communications, or related discipline
- Proofreading experience and familiarity with standard style guides
- Experience using Figma
- Experience with content management systems
- Keen eye for detail
- Start-up experience
- A personal connection to photography and the arts

Compensation
The base salary for this position may vary based on several factors, including the approved job level. The base salary for this role is $154,000. Salary is one component of our total compensation package. This position also qualifies for bonuses and equity (i.e. stock options). The benefits available for this position include flexible time off, a 401K retirement plan, insurance (medical, dental, vision, life/AD&D, short and long term disability), and 11 paid holidays. We also provide paid sick time as required by state and local law. Additional benefits and perks are also offered for this position.
