Summary/Objective
The Jr. Copywriter is responsible for brainstorming, creating, and transforming ideas and concepts into words for articles, advertisements, publications, internal and external documents. The Jr. Copywriter will write content for scripts, website landing pages, press releases, flyers, and other marketing collateral. Creates clear, concise, and brand-compliant copy for corporate purposes.
Essential Functions
- Write copy for Marketing ads, brochures, and other collateral
- Revise, edit, and proofread content as needed or directed by Manager
- Write clear and persuasive copy for websites, advertisements, trade show booths, and other means of advertising
- Writes other types of documents such as news releases, items for other departments, instruction manuals, etc.
- Conceive, develop, and produce effective content that supports and enhances the overall marketing campaigns
- Monitor and change copy to increase effectiveness
- Explore different ideas and concepts for both the visual and verbal elements in tandem with the creative team
- Organizes workload for efficient time management and meets multiple schedule deadlines on time
- Reviews copy using checklist and format copy according to company style guide and checks questionable details
- Maintains history of all copy revisions throughout the entire project cycle
- Work to continually improve copy across all channels
- Understanding of SEO/SEM copywriting
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in English, Journalism, or related field
- 2+ years of copywriting experience
- 1 year of financial/banking experience (preferred)
- Working knowledge of MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Must possess exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to follow-up, perform, multiple tasks in a fast paced environment, respond to changing priorities, and consistently meet deadlines with accurate and detailed results
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- B2B experience required; B2C experience preferred as well
