We are looking for a highly skilled Proof-reader and Editor to join the Elevate Team at Extreme to champion our Executive communications.
Within Product and the Office of the CTO, we oversee content and comms for our Product Organization and Office of the CTO which is over 750 strong with teams in 9+ domestic and international markets. Our team supports everything from company-wide initiatives to external content campaigns to communicate Extreme’s product strategy internally and externally.
This is an opportunity to play a key role in Extreme’s corporate communications. Working with team members, the content specialist will help drive excellent storytelling and content creation that engages internal and external audiences on business successes, transformation initiatives, executive thought leadership and other matters of importance. The content specialist will build stakeholder support for critical initiatives by marshalling facts, analyzing sensitive and complex materials, and translating this information to help audiences understand Extreme’s mission, objectives, and strategy.
Responsibilities
Support the communications team in coordinating a consistent and compelling corporate narrative across a large, complex organization.
Wear the many hats of a content specialist – including proofreading, editing, researching and writing.
Proofread documents and communications to detect and markup for any typing or grammatical errors.
Review documents for layout of text and graphics, and check for compositional errors.
- Translate technical information in Product and OCTO materials to ensure accessibility for less technically literate audiences.
Ensuring flawless copy on various media such as internal comms, external comms, websites, video, etc.
Utilize multiple information resources to verify accuracy of information.
Work with content producers, graphic designers, and members of other product teams to ensure that all written content is edited efficiently, conveying the intention of the pieces accurately and without error, and approved
Offer suggestions to owners of the content to ensure brand guidelines are consistent, and clarifying intended meaning
Requirements
Writing Skills - Ability to build strong narratives from big picture information
- 6+ years of relevant work experience in media, public relations, or corporate communications.
- Intellectually curious and demonstrates superior writing, editing and research skills, with an obsessive attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills
- Possesses integrity, maturity, dependability, a positive professional attitude
- Ability to learn complex technology and business topics quickly and translate them into compelling narratives.
- Dedicated team player with strong relationship management skills and can motivate others to contribute.
- Thrives under pressure and can manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
- Comfortable with multi-channel storytelling, including digital and social media.
