Billion Recruitment Group are recruiting on behalf of a vibrant, exciting and expansive digital marketing company in Liverpool. The company specialise in such markets as the legal sector, Journalism, SEO services and the travel industry.
They are seeking an experienced Copy Editor to join an expanding team. The ideal candidate would be driven, determined and motivated to succeed, as well as trustworthy when it comes to their work and both willing and able to learn quickly.
This role is suitable for someone with experience in editing and who wants to find a long-term home with a growing company. If you have no experience working as a copy editor, you’re unlikely to pass the first round of the process.
The job is office-based, with some flexibility with working from home and hours of work.
The Job
As a copy editor, you'll be assigned a number of articles and guides to edit each day. These articles will be detailed, informative and SEO-driven.
A strong background in writing, or a passion for writing, is an absolute must. Within your application, please provide links to or examples of your writing—fiction or non-fiction.
A law degree (LLB) or quality experience in a law firm is desirable but not necessary. Much of our content focuses on the legal sector, so experience in the industry will help with understanding the content.
Attention to detail is a big part of this role. You will be expected to edit sometimes complex and technical articles which require a sharp editorial eye.
Carrying out research forms a big part of this role too. Our articles cover technical points which need to be verified. Experience in research and scrutinising data sources is therefore essential.
Organisation is also important. You will be responsible for your workload and will, once training is completed, be assigned daily targets and deadlines which you must meet.
Knowledge of SEO and experience in using WordPress is also important. Edited articles must be prepared in a way that maximises SEO performance. Guidance will, however, be provided by our team.
The Benefits
The starting salary is between £20,000 and £25,000 depending on experience. You'll be entitled to 28 days holiday per year, including bank holidays.
With the plans for growth, there will be opportunities to move up in the firm and to gain experience in other areas of marketing.
The offices are located in Liverpool Innovation Park, which boasts great transport links, its own café, leisure facilities and is just a few minutes' walk from the brand new Liverpool Shopping Park.
