Coordinator of Operations and Events for Recreational Sports and Facilities

As our new Coordinator of Operations and Events for Recreational Sports and Facilities, you will have opportunities for a flexible work schedule during certain times of the year, such as summer and academic breaks. During the academic year, you will provide evening supervision, from 2:00-10:00 pm Tuesday through Saturday, for the operation and management of the Sports & Recreation Center and Athletic Facilities.
Working with the Coordinator of Recreational Sports & Athletic Facilities, you will ensure proper use and allocation of space resources and provide on-site supervision, coordination, and event management of varsity athletic competitions, recreation, campus, and community events, as well as oversee event set-ups and tear downs. As our Coordinator of Operations and Events for Recreational Sports and Facilities, you will assist with training and training materials for staff, including student employees and coordinate marketing efforts and strategic outreach to inform the campus community of Sports and Recreation Center and athletic field events. Other duties as assigned to meet the Institute’s business needs.
Qualified candidates will hold a bachelor’s degree in a recreation-related field and one year of related work experience. Knowledge of and ability to use Windows operating systems is necessary. Must have strong time management, organizational, and project/process management skills. Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills to communicate effectively with diverse groups is essential. The ability to multitask is required. Must be very customer service oriented. Successful completion of pre-employment screenings that include a background check and valid driver’s license with acceptable MVR (motor vehicle report) is required. Adult and Pediatric CPR-AED first aid certification are required or an ability to obtain within 60 days. In addition to these qualifications, preferred applicants will have knowledge of higher education and/or the ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
