Job description
12 Month - Fixed Term Contract. The role may be extended or made permanent based on performance and business requirement.
Overview:
Minerals Matter is the mineral products industry’s approach to inspiring people into considering a career within the sector and addressing associated industry challenges such as apprenticeship provision, standards and education.
Minerals Matter works with a range of partners across the mineral products industry including employers, industry bodies, national and independent operators, education and training providers, local authorities, LEPs and government agencies.
The coordinator will be responsible for coordinating a portfolio of outreach initiatives, and the Minerals Matter STEM Ambassador network (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) in partnership with STEM Learning UK. These programmes are essential to impact positively on the future skills of the sector, and awareness of the importance of industry to the UK economy.
The coordinator will be employed by the Mineral Products Qualifications Council (MPQC), established in 1983 to help develop and maintain industry training needs and was originally known as Quarry Products Training Company Ltd.
MPQC is a ‘not for profit’ membership organisation whose members are derived from the quarrying, mineral products, mining, construction, and related manufacturing sectors. MPQC members cover a wide breadth of the mineral products industry and range from sole traders to multi-national corporations.
MPQC is formed of two divisions: MP Awards and MP Skills. The two divisions operate independently of one another and are governed and regulated by a range of Government Bodies and Independent Regulators.
