This Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator role is offered on a fixed term basis until August 2024 working 37 hours per week Monday to Thursday 0800 to 1645 and Friday 0800 to 1330. You will be based at HMP Deerbolt, Barnard Castle County Durham, DL129BG, working with adults aged 18 and above.

What the role entails
As the Regional SENCo, you will lead and, provide training, guidance and support to Managers, teachers and Learning support practitioners. You will work closely with the Quality Manager, Deputy and Contract Manager to drive inclusive and neurodiverse education. You will also have an opportunity to work with a passionate National team of SENCos.
What we need from you
In order to be successful in the role of SENCo, you will need:
- Degree or equivalent
- Hold an SEN qualification at Level 5 or above or commit to achieving within an agreed timescale – a teaching qualification would be desirable.
- Significant experience within the field of learning difficulties and disabilities
- Track record of effective working to support disadvantaged and vulnerable learners – some of whom may present with a range of challenging behaviour.
- Approach the role with expectations about collaborative partnership working.
- Experience of successful working in an effective multi-disciplinary team
- Be able to track, record, analyse and evaluate data to support and influence both learner and course development.
